Today I would like to talk about the infamous and adored listicles.
Back in the day the term "Listicle" did not even exist, but thanks to the internet this form of literature was born and it became a huge success, even an addiction to some people.
Adored by almost every millennial, not considered literature by almost every old-schooler, Listicles bring fast, simple, clean, and easy-to-digest information, the majority of listicles include pictures, the content varies from pure entertainment to product and service marketing, BuzzFeed is one of the greatest sources to find interesting listicles Content Marketers can learn a lot from.
I studied the concept of listicles during a course I took from the University of California - Berkeley, and right away I fell in love with this polemic form of literature.
In my case specifically, when I write Listicles I tend to write (A LOT) more than most listicle writers, just because I'm really (REALLY) communicative, I talk a lot, I express a lot, I write A LOT, simply because even though a picture (sometimes) says more than a thousand words I do believe the words are essential to give any listicle its "soul".
I like to publish content-rich literature, regardless of the kind, when I write song lyrics I like to really express my thoughts and feelings, when I write my books I really want to transport my reader to a different dimension, so when I write listicles I like to make them rich, so I like to say I write "Richcles".
If I'm writing a listicle about the top 10 TV series you MUST watch I'm going to provide you with a good amount of info to justify why you MUST watch the listed series, the same goes for product listicles, if I'm telling you that you MUST buy the products I listed then I am going to justify why, and I do it guilt-free!
Long story short, I absolutely love listicles, I think they are fun to read, entertaining and easy to digest, you can get the information you were looking for in a fun and contemporary way! And yes, my listicles have more text content than most listicles out there but trust me, I'm going to convince you why you "MUST" do/buy/watch/consume whatever my listicles suggest!
